Plex won’t play anything after Hisense VIDAA firmware update V0001.09.01B.P0424

Since the latest firmware update on my Hisense VIDAA TV (firmware: V0001.09.01B.P0424), the built-in Plex app no longer works. I get a “Playback error – Unexpected playback issue occurred” every time I try to play anything. The library loads, internet is working, but nothing plays.

The Plex app cannot be uninstalled because it’s built into the system (triggered via a remote button). Clearing general cache and cookies did not help. Please escalate this to your development team. Model name: “Welcome”, ESN: HISETVK8450000000000000000007171724.

In Plex’s Settings, under advanced, what are the value for Allow Insecure Connections and Prefer Insecure Connections?

Try changing them both to Never if they aren’t already.

They are set to never. This was indeed an issue i had when i set plex up last year. And i set it then to never. I checked and even plating and changing doesn’t help.
Its still set on never for both options.
