Plex won’t add an mp3, even though the permissions and naming are apparently correct, since I added music last week and nothing on my system has changed since then.
I got the same kind of log entry during the scan as the previous poster, in which Plex found the song and ignored it – “Skipping over directory ‘Brownie McGheeSonny Terry/Prestige Profiles, Vol. 8 Disc 2’, as nothing has changed; removing 1 media items from map.” There is no such listing in my Plex music, though it is in the music folder that Plex scanned.
I’m running Plex 1.40.2.8395 as a snap on Xubuntu 22.04. Any help would be much appreciated.
This message usually means that the track in question is already in the library, but probably not where you would expect it.

Folder structure and embedded meta tags are key to success with music.
Keep in mind that Plex does not support more than one album artist per release.
Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee are technically 2 artists, (although they usually recorded together).
You might find the release among the compilation albums in Plex, because the album artist is either unclear or not defined at all.
