Plex won’t detect H265 (.mkv .m4v) videos in my library. DS718+. It will detect H264 videos in these containers(.mkv, .m4v) using the same video as source. I’ve rescanned the librarys, checked permissions etc. Any suggestions?
If PMS refused to accept them, there’s something wrong with the file.
The scanner starts detection based on filename extension.
It then opens the file and performs basic header analysis.
If the headers are valid, it continues, If not, the file is ignored.
The best way to diagnose this is:
- Move the file out
- Verify PMS has no history of the file: (Scan files, emptry trash, clean bundles)
- Move the file back in and rescan
- Collect the logs (Settings - Server - Help - Download Logs)
- Attach the ZIP
Thanks for your reply. I’m still investigating. I’m not sure how to ‘clean bundles’
Remember to Empty Trash before Clean Bundles
Thank you. The issue now seems to have resolved itself.
