Plex wont install on my computer

i have no idea what is going. Plex wont install on my computer a fresh install .i open the installer click on install but nothing being install no plex files are being install well on program files(x86) i check regedit and there is no registration but yet when i try to try to install it again it say to repair or uninstall click on repair and it dont repair anything click on uninstall and then i can try to reinstall but yet the server files dont get install so i cant run the server there is no server to run. My computer had new windows update last night so dont know if that can be the issue

Try reboot then uninstall and re install

still having the issue try the troubleshooter but still cant install it also dont give me any errors it just that the files are not being install at all

i have a back up of the Appdata and the register maybe if you guys can beable to give me the raw files with out the installer meaning just the plex media server folder i might be able to get it to work but right now this installer is not installing the folder at all

check out the windows environment - by doing sfc /scannow in an elevated command prompt window
Had a user with issues due to corrupt windows and was resolved after doing this repair

if you go through control panel / add or remove programs, does it show any installed version?
and what happens when you select uninstall ?

Logs get written to %Temp% and would have names starting with Plex Media Server_ and dd_

I tried to install software after a fresh windows install and in my case I needed to get all the latest Windows Updates first. There was something within a fresh install, with no updates, that just seems to lock up on some installs, I would guess it has to do with the software version of InstallShield vs. the O.S.'s version.

the thing is that the server was install on this computer same windows i haven’t reinstall windows just the new update that came out but after uninstalling plex and then trying to reinstall it it just don’t want to install anymore the installer don’t want to install plex media server folder an the files that goes inside it.

Oh man. Try creating a new user account in windows, then use that account to install plex, just to see if it does. If it does install then there is something on the main user account that is corrupted.

yea i might try that but all i need is the files from plex media server the main files not the one that is on applocal folder cause have a back up of the registration and the applocal folder so all i need is the main files. i had a back up of the main files but i dont now were i put it i might off deleted that file with out me knowing maybe me being drunk or something lol

So it is an upgrade from 1.12.1.4871 to 1.12.2.4929

The package it was trying to remove was {4DC5A763-C290-489E-AE66-D03D5B6F64BF}

Could you try the Microsoft Fix It Troubleshooer selecting uninstall and giving it this package id

Follow the screenshots on this post http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1607388/#Comment_1607388 and for the Product Code, enter
{4DC5A763-C290-489E-AE66-D03D5B6F64BF}

If that is successful, reboot
Then check control panel / add or remove programs to see of any Plex components left - try uninstall for any remaining - save the logs
Then reboot again - in case there were file locks
Then run the 1.12.2.4929 installer
If problems persist, please copy out the logs and zip and attach

Did you run sfc /scannow ?

well i try all that i just reinstall windows. my windows is running on a ssd and nothing important was on that drive so i reinstall nothing lost i just reinstall the programs back and thats should do it. Thanks for the help to everyone but the problem was still going on after i try all what you guys said but really thanks it feels good knowing that people are willing to help so again Thanks
