I just recently started using Plex and every time that I try to add some media, nothing is added. instead it just tells me that the library is empty. how do I get data onto plex and it actually accept it?

How are you trying to add it? What type of media are you trying to add.

Basically you should have separate main folders for each type of media, Movies, TV, Photos, Home/Other Videos and Music.
Say if you have a folder called Movies and in that you have a folder for each individual movie file. D:/Movies/Batman (1989)/Batman 1989.mkv When you create your library, select that it will be a Movie library. then when you pick which folder to add, only pick the folder D:/Movies
