Plex won't remember show's played

Player Version#: Web 4.41.1

Problem has existed for last three versions. I can start a show, watch 1-3 episodes, quit back to Home, start a different show, come back to first show and hit Play. Plex starts with the first show I already watched 3 hours ago. I have to click Next for every episode I watched through. Shows are marked Watched after viewing and lose the Triangle. Doesn’t matter how I start the show (opening season and selecting play or play from Library palate) but only after I go into the season and specifically start the episode I want to watch, does it remember on future plays to start on THAT new episode.
Previous forum posts don’t suggest anything meaningful. Have Optimized Database and Restarted Services. No change. This is getting old…
