Even though my DS415+ works wonderfully well with Plex, on PlexWeb and iPad, it does NOT work on Xbox One where I'm told I need to be on 0.9.10.3 (or more I *guess*) while I'm on 0.9.11.7.
Anyway I can make this work?
I had no problem when PMS was running on my PC, and now ONLY the Xbox One has a problem with this?
I’m running 0.9.11.7 on Synology and Xbox One client connects fine. But I’m having the “unexpected error” problem after content plays for awhile, so it’s pretty much useless to me right now.
So many different things happening to people with the same configuration.
For example I am exempt of much, if not all, of the problems others are reporting...
Damn!
So, to be clear, when you launch Plex on your Xbox One it does not tell you that your version number is too low, even though you do have a version newer than that?
What is the exact error message you're seeing? It might be that your server isn't visible on plex.tv, and the error message is somewhat misleading. Can you access your server outside of your local network?
Yes my Plex server works both on my Local network on PC and iPad and Outside through Plex TV via the Web.
The only device it does not work on is that Xbox One which is, of course, our best way to consume medias on the TV.
I've even updated to PlexMediaServer-0.9.11.10.844-4eb458f-x86, which is to be found somewhere in this Forum for testing purposes, and it does not solve my Xbox One woes.
Just tested it NOW, and Plex for Xbox One does tell me I need to have a server at 0.9.10.3 or higher.
I'll go uninstall Plex on the Console and reinstall it to see if it sorts things through.
PMS works OK though, DS415+ with that edit Arch = avoton line is a terrific Plex box.
Having upgraded to PlexMediaServer-0.9.11.10.844-4eb458f-x86 obviously required some sprinkling of Magic on top of my Xbox One.
Rule #1 of any Helpdesk, have them uninstall and reinstall things to see if it sorts things out.
Uninstalled Plex on the Console, reinstalled it without even a reboot, and tadaaa! it got straight to my PMS and displayed everything in its frustrating glory.
Frustrating because, as with most, I can't yet fathom why I would WANT to be presented with RANDOM information like, More from Crime, More from CBS...
:-)
Thanks to all who participated in this, and for the Forum and, of course, product.
Glad it's sorted for you. I'm still not sure why though... anyway!
The 'discovery' side of the interface (your 'random information' :) ) sits alongside the general browsing interface and is hopefully there as a good way of finding stuff you like. As you watch (and mark as watched) more stuff, this should hopefully become more useful to you. It's pretty early days for this UI though, so I'm sure it's not perfect!
