PlexAmp Beta On Mac (Keyboard Shortcut) Issues

Hey Yall,

Has anyone else run into this with the new PlexAmp Mac app (beta)?

I’ve set up keyboard shortcuts, but they keep working even after I close the PlexAmp window (Still running in the background) and switch to another app like Firefox or Chrome. The shortcuts still control PlexAmp instead of the app that’s actually in focus.

It’s really annoying. For example, if I map Spacebar to play/pause music, I can’t use Spacebar anywhere else as long as PlexAmp is running. The only workaround is to disable that shortcut so I can type or use Spacebar normally. The same goes for other keyboard shortcuts.

Is this a known issue?

Also I see there is no way to manually set the sample rate of the music. Is this dynamic now? Does it change as songs with different sample rates come on?

That’s why they are called “global” shortcuts.
Afaik, Space should function as Play/Pause anyway as long as Plexamp is in focus i.e. there is no need to define it as a global shortcut.

Maybe you want to investigate media control shortcuts or media keys.

I found a great thread on this topic that you were actually apart of lol. Plexamp - Local Keyboard Shortcuts - Straight to the point and very black or white. I just ended up making custom unique Global Shortcuts to solve my issue. I just mainly wanted to have the CMD + → To Skip tracks, you know, the classic keyboard shortcuts. The media keys just never worked and I don’t know why because they worked for all my other previous media apps like spotify.
