Plexamp - Local Keyboard Shortcuts

Hi,

Probably a no but…

Is there anyway in Plexamp (3.4.2) to define local keyboards shortcuts? That is shortcuts that only apply when the window has focus? Or are there shortcuts already for next/prev track?

I realize one can use media keys, but they get picked up by every open application and I often have various apps open that all respond to the key press. So next track when plex is playing results in other paused play lists in (say) amazon music moving to the next track also.

To work around that I have a series of auto hot key scripts that send (for example) space (play/pause) to the last focused media player when I hit shift+alt+space, or right arrow (next track) when shift+alt+right arrow. Works wonderfully with several players. But plex amp seems to be virtually the only player I have ever used that doesn’t do prev/next track on left/right arrow press so it doesn’t work.

I realize one can also use global shortcuts in plex, but that then means I have different keys for plex.

Brill app by the way, such an improvement on v1 (other than please add a close/minimize to tray option)

Thanks

Nope.

Normally, they get only picked up the most recently opened media player app.

Alt+F4 and Windows+↓ , respectively
The latter can also be achieved by a simple mouse click on the Plexamp item in the task bar.

Shame

I will have to do some more testing with the media keys. On my win 10.0.19041 they go to all open media player apps, not just the most recently opened one.

(Off topic but thanks for the answer) Alt F4 for close is ok but IMHO not a viable solution for what is after all a Windows application (I apricate its a react/electron/cross platform app under the hood, but when running on Windows). I have on more than one occasion hit alt-f4 with the wrong window focused. Fine if the focused app prompts to close. Not so fine if it is say a browser that just shuts in the middle of something. I realise you can right click the hidden window chrome, just feels un-windows-like.

Minimize to tray I mean systray, not just minimize the window to the taskbar. As in down by the clock - hidden from the task bar. and not shown in alt-tab list Currently I use DisplayFusion to fill this gap using a trigger which auto hides plexamp in the system tray (and removes it from the taskbar) when minimized. Again just fairly standard that “background” apps like Plexamp have this option.
