Plexamp can’t find my server anymore after a fresh login; whether on the latest version or older ones, on two devices Android 9, and 11, one in use and one brand-spanking-new (factory condition), respectively. Instead, I get this message after login. Plex App (the video one) works without issue, and finds the server immediately upon login. One android device (“Pahoehoe” in the log; broken screen) which is already logged onto Plexamp can still stream music from the server. I have already restarted and updated the server; no change. All devices are on the same network mesh. Please help; I have provided the logs. Thank you! Plex Media Server Logs_2022-03-13_17-28-04.zip (3.9 MB)
I don’t know what the heck was up with it, why Plexamp behaved in such a way, but I just uninstalled Plexamp and reinstalled it from the Play Store and now it is working.
That’s not a hidden trick. That’s actually a horrible hidden way to not help you and the rest of the team from getting the information you need. Was this “trick” added to the PlexAmp guide because that could have saved many of us the trouble from trying to figure out how to send logs but unable to sign in on PlexAmp.
We added the shortcut in the last release quickly just so we could help people when they were running into issues signing in (the primary issue having been fixed in the last release).
So I took a look at the PlexAmp release notes and I stand corrected as it does appear that you implemented it back on the 4.0.1 release. I don’t know how many times I’ve come across a handful of users who needed to send in logs but had no way to submit them due to no mechanism to do so. As someone who has similar situations as they did, I couldn’t help but think how they were to do that.
Thanks for implementing a way but if this method is to be used, if definitely needs be added to the guide or pinned as PlexAmp continues to have blips every now and then.
