Unable to find server/connection in Plexamp

Server Version#: 1.43.3.10896
Player Version#:
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

I’m running Plexamp on my android device. It is unable to find my music library (which does exist). I believe the issue is because I removed a server and created a new one. I think Plexamp is continually looking for the old server that doesn’t exist. Is there any way around this? I can’t proceed to Plexamp settings because I get blocked by the Select a Library screen.

Thanks!

Paul

Plexamp finds music libraries of servers linked to your Plex account.

See Settings > Source

Is your new server claimed by the same Plex account?

Yep! Same account.

What do you mean by this?

Can you see/access this music library from other Plex apps?
When creating a new server… did you migrate your original setup or create a new one?

I mean that when I open plexamp, I am instantly asked to connect to a library. Because I’m unable to connect to my music library, I get stuck on this screen. There are no menu options or buttons to click. I can’t get to a settings page or account menu. I’m literally stuck there.

I can see my other plex libraries within the plex app on my android (remotely and in-network). I am port forwarding my plex server and remote connection is working (I can actually see all my libraries including music in my Plex app on Roku).

I did not migrate my original setup/server. I removed it and created a new one.

I think I’ve seen some reports like this in the past, when the Plexamp app failed to connect to Plex‘s backend.

Does the issue persist if you force-quit the app?
Does it make a difference if you connect from your home network or via mobile network?

i have force-quit about 10 times. I also cleared storage, uninstalled/reinstalled, etc.

plexamp on my phone can’t find my music library when i’m connected to wi-fi or using cellular data.

plexamp was able to find my music library before, with my old library (the one i removed).

to me it seems like when you try to connect, it doesn’t loop through all of your servers. it just tries to connect to the first one it finds (and then gets stuck, cause in this case that server no longer exists) and errors out. seems like there is no try/catch block in the code, where it can catch a connection error and proceed to the next server in the list.

Is your old server still linked to your account?
If so, remove it from https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/devices/pms (be careful not to drop your new server).

No. My I removed my old server from devices earlier. My new one is in there.

Can you share a screenshot of the stuck library selection?
Which version of the Plexamp app do you have installed on your Android device?

i’m running plexamp v4.12.4 on android (google pixel 9).
screenshot attached.

You can long press the “Sign In” button to share logs which will be helpful to diagnose.

i tried long pressing the sign in button in my plexamp app (android), but there was no action afterward. i had to short press it to actually login.
i also tried this on my plex app (android). same thing.

let me know if i did this wrong or you meant to long press somewhere else or on a different device. thanks!

Hmm that should work but in some cases on Android the log sharing seems to fail.

This is along the lines of what you should see when long pressing the “Sign in” button on that screen.

worked! logs attached.

Hi, based on your log you seem to be hitting an issue due to a newly updated cert in your server.

We’ll need to make a new release of the Plexamp app to support connections to your server, I’m afraid.

ok. thanks for the info. what is the timeline for something like that?

Hoping in the next week :crossed_fingers:
