I have several audiobook playlists on my Plex server. PlexAmp sees these okay, but when I choose to download them to my phone, it does so incompletely. One list has 24 tracks. The download shows it’s completed, but only shows 3 tracks. Another list has 427 tracks, but only shows 6 having been downloaded. I tried removing the download and redownloading a few times. The result is the same. Is there some form of limit that I might not instictively be aware of?
The very first time you download it there is a slider bar that appears and lets you choose how much of the playlist to download. For large playlists it may default to an hour or so.
But if you missed it then go to your downloads tab and long press on the play list. Then choose Edit. This brings up the slider bar so move it all the way to maximum and it should get the entire list.
@west_logan, Good stuff! That, at least, helped me see a pattern.
On the current iOS version of PlexAmp, I am not presented with a slider bar when I choose to download (tried some new ones to be sure). I can Edit the download, and then I can see the slider bar. It appears to default to 72 hours.
Here’s the thing, though. I can Edit the slider and change it to Maximum, but the maximum appears to be hardcoded to 72 hours. I can Refresh after the change, and it still does not feel that it needs to download anything else.
The variations I saw in my first post were “number of items” in the list, but looking at each downloaded playlist, they are all approximately 72 hours long.
I’ve looked for any way to override this setting. I don’t see it. Is there something that can be done?
I’m on iOS as well but I checked and I think you’re right. One of my downloaded playlists is at “3 days” length but the playlist I’m downloading is 3 days 10 hours so it’s not getting all of it. Perhaps it does have a 72-hour max.
I don’t know if you’re interested in a different audiobook solution but I run AudioBookShelf in a docker container and use Plappa as the client on iOS. It works really well.
@elan, thanks for the reply! I have been checking the logs, and they appear to be leaving out an important detail of the story (but admittely, I’m relatively new to these). Today, I verified that each of the three playlists I’ve downloaded are set to Maximum, and performed another Refresh. I’ve attached the log file.
I see a line for each playlist that tells me: “Refresh , computing items.” But I don’t know why it’s still only satisfied with 72 hours, rather than the maximum.
