Plexamp - Problems connecting to my server

Hello to the Plex Community. Hopefully I’ve done this correctly… I am having basically the same problem as described here: (PlexAmp Slow to open (from r/plexamp)). I am using Plexamp on iOS. It works perfectly when I’m at home, but it’s very slow and/or times out completely when trying to connect from outside. I have attached the logs which were exported right after the issue occurred.

I took a look at the logs, but I could not decipher what the problem is. I should mention that my Plex Server is hosted on a Synology NAS (running DSM 6.x, not 7) whose internal IP address is 192.168.50.20. I can only assume it’s some sort of routing issue, but as far as I can tell, my port forward settings are correct. When I go to the Remote Access tab of my Plex Server, it says, “Fully accessible outside your network.”

I’m traveling at the moment, but one thing you might want to check is if you change the port it’s exposed on to 443 or 8443, this can avoid your carrier throttling/blocking. It’s helped in some cases…

Hi elan,

Thanks for the response. It took me awhile, but I finally tried this solution. It does seem to help a little. I still have problems connecting on occasion, but not like I did before. Plexamp is amazing btw. It’s changed the way I listen to my music for the better.
