PlexAmp Specify local files

I already have my entire music collection downloaded and sorted by artist/album folders on my phone. I’d like to try plexamp for playing local-only files via android auto, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to choose a specific directory for local files. I really don’t want to duplicate my collection (I don’t have space to do that anyway) just to play files locally using plexamp.
Is there a way that I’m missing to specify actual file location and not just storage type?

You cannot point Plexamp to a custom local folder.
I doubt that’ll work as most of Plexamp features are based on additional metadata stored in Plex’ database (and synced to Plexamp when playing your music) or is derived from a Plex Media Server.

If you want to play music offline with Plexamp you’re currently “limited” to download up to 24 hours of music (e.g. from your library’s artists, albums, playlists, stations or mixes).

Ok, thanks. I appreciate the candid reply. I guess it just doesn’t suit my needs then and I’ll have to continue using what I’m using. It looks nice, though.

It doesn’t only look nice
