Went camping the other day with my phone and brand new JBL Charge 4 speaker. Out in the boonies with no internet I could not get my phone (Pixel 3XL) to pay my downloaded songs, just got a constant spinning circle. Good thing I had MediaMonkey installed.
Now at home I put my phone in airplane mode and when I start Plexamp I the message “WHOOPS We had an issue getting data from FreeNAS Server, and we’re pretty bummed about it.” … we so am I!
Has anyone had similar issues getting downloaded songs to play when no cell or WiFi service is available. I’d figure this is the whole reason to DL songs. :-/
I have noticed that here at home, in airplane mode, at the bottom of the screen with the WHOOPS message is a box with a song with the the play triangle. If I click that my phone will start playing my downloaded music. Unfortunately this option wasn’t available on my camping trip. Still I shouldn’t get the WHOOPS message when offline.
I know that Plex does not link your regular library and the downloaded files – so if you click on a song you know you have downloaded on the home screen, you’ll get a spinning wheel and an error message.
I’ve run into that situation a number of times.
You can only actually start downloaded items from the Downloads tab.
Just double-checking if that might have been the case for you as well?!
Best I remember I just clicked on the Plexamp icon on my phone and got nothing but a spinning circle. I’ve sure if I had other options I would have been hitting every option.
Sorry guys I didn’t get more data. If it happens again I’ll make some notes and/or get some screen shots. If there were tabs at the bottom of the screen I’m sure I would have been tapping them. There was no “v” to close.
