Plexconnect hangs up while loading a movie

Love Plexconnect and it used to run without a hitch but I've been having problems with it lately. I've got PMS running on my macbook air and the ATV3 can see the library but whenever I pick a movie it starts loading it but hangs up and the wheel icon will spin indefinitely.

Any suggestions to sort this out would be greatly appreciated.

Please provide all the information in the troubleshooting section of the pinned thread “Read before posting”. This helps everyone help you.


However my first guess will be that your air is hanging up with CPU becuase of transcoding of media, but without the info in that thread it’s a guess

Thanks for the reply, and apologies for not including everything in my first post. I'll provide all ihe info mentioned on the troubleshooting section when I get home tonight.

I'm pretty sure it's not the Air since it hasn't had any problems transcoding media in the past and it doesn't choke in the middle of playback. The 2013 Air is actually a suprisingly capable computer :) Also, plexconnect doesn't play any media files at the moment, even the ones that don't need transcoding won't play.

D'oh! Just figured out the what the problem was. My movies are stored on an external NAS and somehow OSX had suddenly unmounted the network mapped drive that stores the movies. PMS still showed all my movies in the library but just wasn't able to access them. Plexconnect now works like a charm again :)
