PMP Intel NUC8I3BEK no drivers/network

Hi guys,
So using PMP Embedded, just got a new Intel NUC8I3BEK.
Installed PMP Embedded but it doesnt have network and wont boot as its stuck saying waiting for network.

Can we get PMP updated to the latest kernels? LibreELEC works fine.
But I dont want to run that as I pay for Plex Pass and want the clean streamlined use.
Also easier for the Wife approval factor.

XORG also doesnt load.
I bought a USB network adapter, but it gets stuck loading XORG as no iGPU drivers.

DEVS PLEASE update your image with the latest kernels. You’re limiting devices that can be used with the embedded image.

Id love to get some traction on this.
A dev or someone to explain if this is possible or how I could compile my own with a newer kernel would be great.

I’m not letting this go…
I would like an update please from Plex.

NUC8 has been out for around a year now, and still no support.
How many other devices need newer kernels to work?!

AFAIK the Embedded isn’t actively supported. They do occaisionally do a nightly build located here: https://nightlies.plex.tv/public-test/plexmediaplayer/embedded-testing/latest/

There is also community support for a linux build of PMP going on here to load on top of Debian/Ubuntu:

Thats really sad to hear.

PMP is a great solution for a single client player.

Out of curiosity, why would I use PMP ontop of Ubuntu rather than Kodi with the Plex plugin?

Lastly if I did the ubuntu install with PMP can I make it boot just PMP? And would it install on Ubuntu server?

Still not dropping this. Plex should be able to maintain PMP for home cinema use.

Plex Devs please update kernel in PMP…
Or give us a time line of when this looks likely.

For whatever little its worth, I add my vote to this!

Or at the very least if you are not longer providing Plex for HTPC’s make it opensource so some quality devs can take up the charge and make this happen.

Paying for Plex Pass and then you remove a core feature of why I paid is a bitter pill to swallow and there are alternatives like Emby and Jellyfin, but I dont like their HTPC layout and prefer the look of Plex, only thing keeping me. Now you taking that away… sad times…
