Sorry didn’t work after restarting the server.
Yes I tried the Android Plex app. It gives the error “check your connection”
Yes i did. It shows the media library but doesnt play it
Rebooted everything. Used cell data to connect and still no connection.
I did and its all working now.
Weird that it works now and not before.
But its all fine now
thank you for your help.
I downloaded that version of plex from the package center of Synology.
Ok. have a nice day.
Hello,
I am having the same issue but the recommendation above did no resolve my issue. I show successful remote access for a few seconds then it returns not available.
Plex: 1.23.5.4862
Synology: DSM 7.0-41890
Any assistance is appreciated, thank you.
basic rules for remote access troubleshooting:
Basic question at the end: did it already work for you before or is this about getting remote access to work at all?
I think I am able to connect from outside my network ok:
My issue started after updating from DSM 6 to 7. Before DSM 7 I was able to connect remotely fine without a port forwarding rule on my router prior.
I also have UPnP off on my router before the issue started and still today.
I unchecked ‘Manually specify public port’ again and Plex set both the public and private port to 32400. I seem to now have remote access.
That is with the port forwarding rule below.
Any possible issue with this setup?
Well… you’ll need one of those to get it to work (UPnP vs. manual port forwarding). You might want to verify those ports though: according to your screenshots you’re telling Plex to go via port 32400 while you were checking the accessibility for an entirely different port.
If the issue started with the upgrade to DSM 7 you might also want to review the DSM‘s network/security configuration to ensure there’s nothing blocking the communication there.
Sounds good, thank you for the help.
The problem I have now with the not synology store version of plex is
the dsm 7 version of plex from the plex website
disappeared from my nas.
it worked very good but after 2 days it was suddenly gone and disappeared from my system.
I had to reinstall it.
what i said it was gone
It was also gone in the package center
worked for 3 days then magical disappeared from the nas
no my friend it was gone before. but its ok.
i will end this conversation. i dont have to proof anything. i believe its a new security thing in dms 7. if you install packages outside the synology package store. I only tell you what happend notting more.
