Hello,
I am running PMS on a shield pro (16GB internal storage) and I am trying to modify the storage location to a shared folder on a Synology NAS.
Unfortunately, when I go the PMS storage location settings, I have only two options :
- internal (system storage location)
- internal (user accessible storage location)
Following the procedure found here : https://support.plex.tv/articles/moving-server-data-storage-location-on-nvidia-shield/
there should be a third choice : Media but it is missing.
I am currently running the 8.2.0(32.6.435.1) version of the shield OS.
That procedure is for moving the Plex data folder, where Plex keeps its internal database, metadata about movies & tv shows, etc.
The third choice is for an external drive such as USB drive or SD card.
You cannot choose a network drive such as a NAS.
You can choose a NAS to store your movies, tv shows, and other media.
See Plex Docs → Nvidia Shield → Media Storage Options for NVIDIA SHIELD.
Also review Limitations When Running Plex Media Server on NVIDIA SHIELD.

Thanks for your quick reply!
Indeed I mixed up two different things.
I’ve then disable Video Preview Thumbnails as recommended and this should do the trick.
