Added a few movies Wednesday night, Matched some metadata, all working ok. Thursday evening it won’t start and says I am offline.
Shield streams other apps fine, network storage mounted fine, and can access internal storage remotely from PC so network to Shield appears to be ok
In Player Settings there is nothing under the heading for Plex Media Server, nothing to show Running or Stopped.
Permissions for PMS still set to Always Allow. No updates available for either. Signed out of Plex and back in. Soft and hard reboot (several), cleared cache on PMS and Player.
Can anyone help me get this working again? Not sure which logs to provide. Everything under Internal/Plex Media Server/Logs or something more specific?
Deleted Data and Uninstalled PMS - Setup successful (yay!) - added films from network shares successfully, even changed some Movie posters. Good as new. Tried to play a film. No Internet Connection. Server unavailable again. PMS missing from settings again.
Next day tried removing Server and Client and using earlier known working versions - same. Subsequently stuck in a setup failed loop.
Even tried an experimental server build from this post and just left all the setup as default. Found a couple of films I’d forgotten Id added to the Shield storage and added them to my Library. Would not play though. Logs show errors like:
ERROR - [Req#2670/Transcode] MDE: video has neither a video stream nor an audio stream.
One thing I do know is that it has both, as I have watched the film previously.
Rebooted. Offline again, PMS missing from server settings again
The experimental build might be worth a go for those of you stuck in the Setup Failed loop?
Going a bit cross eyed from all the stuff I’ve read, none of which has resulted in a working Plex server on my Shield. Hoping there is someone out there with the technical ability to resolve the problem and the inclination to help.
