PMS showing multiple posters for one movie

Server Version#: 1.18.2.2029
Player Version#: 4.8.3

As the title says: For the last couple of versions of PMS there have been at least two posters for every movie in my library. I have checked that naming conventions are correct. Any ideas?

Can you supply an image of what your seeing…

Sure.

Looks like you are seeing collections, with the movies…
Also you may want to check the file naming is consistent with Plex naming convention.

28 Days Later - 0 movies = collection, funny thing is it doesn’t include the movie in it
if the movie was added then renamed that happens…

Another likely suspect is the Collection Feature has run amok - when letting TMDB have it’s way with your server:

Edit the Library/Advanced

Here you can Hide movies in Collections - if you want to keep them. Most people regain control by disabling Collection Gathering from TMDB - who think every movie has to be in a collection for some reason.

You can change these settings - then delete the collections, by hitting the ‘Dots’ on the collection poster.

My biggest issue with collections is that at one point I had more collections then movies, since one movie could get listed in different collections… So I disabled them and use collections in a different way…

Once you take Collections away from TMDB - it’s cured.
Nothing else, to my knowledge, does stupid stuff with the Collection Feature, but some embedded metadata in MP4/M4V files can also cause problems.

Not sure if the LMA Hack fixes that possibility or not:

Red: Where it was
Green: Where it goes
ALL Tabs under Shows and Movies

I remove ALL metadata from everything except Music and haven’t had an issue and I also run the LMA Hack - for safety.

Like I said I have collections totally disabled… (that Plex can manipulate it)

I have it set to list the movies by decade and whats in the current year.
That way its just a few clicks away in most clients.
Yes I know you can sort them that way… I like my way…

Thanks for the hint. I set all settings as they were shown in your screenshot, but I disabled collections completely. This is the result
