No, that’s related but not this issue.
That’s if an old TV/App doesn’t support a current TLS standard and has to use an unencrypted connection.

ok, thanks for clearing up
Sounds like something might be bitten by the LetsEncrypt intermediate certificate expiry?
https://blog.dnsimple.com/2021/09/letsencrypt-intermediate-expiration/
I have three servers here. All have the same problem - no remote access.
Yep.
Plex has to fix their cert error as shared before:
Sep 30, 2021 13:31:15.631 [0x7f8b775aeb38] DEBUG - CERT: incomplete TLS handshake from 54.170.120.91:42370: sslv3 alert certificate expired
There isn’t much we can do until they resolve it.
Sad that the userbase has to point out these things.
Just coming to +1. Experiencing the same issue myself. Hopefully Plex fixes quickly. Let’s see how long…
EDIT: Nothing on https://status.plex.tv/ yet
EDIT 2: Now officially acknowledged.
Since the timing matches, can I assume the same cert problem causes RASPLEX clients to not find plex servers anymore?
Issue started roughly 3 hours ago in two different LAN setups all RASPLEX (1.8.0) clients stopped being able to access servers, while mobile apps and browser based players still work in both setups.
No, that’s not the same as that’s the other issue that was linked above:
Thank you animosity022, so I’m out of luck for a fix then. RASPLEX client doesn’t seem to have a way to allow unsecure connections. damn…
We are looking into. LetEncrypt does seem to be hit with a high number of cert renewal requests due to the root expiry which could be partially related.
Let's Encrypt Status
Come on, a company your size shouldnt have to rely on a free service like letsencrypt -,-
My remote access is not working either as of today.
Without knowing a ton about their back-end. It looks like they issue a Let’s Encrypt cert to each PMS instance. Using a non-free service would be a cost that would just get passed on to the users.
I suppose they could use a wildcard cert, but I’m not sure if that would actually be compatible with the way they handle the server relaying.
Would using a custom certificate be a functional workaround? If not, will anything be needed on our end to ingest these faster?
Same issue here. I’d pay extra to have a cert you rotated properly. Appreciate whomever at Plex resolves the issue and fixes the dependency for the future. We’re all super vocal because we love your app so much, honestly. So appreciate you, BUT FIX IT!
Drop thetvdb.com, themoviedb.org, and musicbrainz.org while they are at it?
I see this has now been marked as Resolved on https://status.plex.tv/ but I still do not have working access to my server.
EDIT: I turned it off and back on again.
Server Settings has a ! for Remote Access and advises
" Not available outside your network
Your server is signed in to Plex, but is not reachable from outside your network."
But I can access and play from everywhere and everything that I’ve tested so…
Same issue here
PMS says no remote access but I can access the server remotely without issue.
Same for me, It started with can’t connect directly. I’ve rebooted my router and keep trying, my server is still Not available outside your network. I hope they fix this soon!
