I upgraded my PMS server on my Synology 920+ from PlexMediaServer-1.23.5.4862 to PlexMediaServer-1.23.6.4881.
Now, the PMS server can’t access any media in any library. The permissions on the NAS haven’t changed and seem all in order when checked through the DSM.
I have tried stopping and rerunning PMS, rebooting the NAS, rollbacking to the previous version (PMS uninstall then reinstall an earlier version), scanning the libraries several times, all to no avail. I’m lost. All the files that are locally stored on the NAS volume have the tag “unavailable”. I can however play the files that are on external drives connected to the NAS.
Any idea?
P.S. I have another server running on a MacBook Pro with the same content, everything plays fine on it. Logs.zip (5.4 MB)
It looks like a permission issue; when I try to browse the volume containing my media (volume2\video) on the NAS through the “add folder” when modifying the library, the folder \video\ appears empty.
I did the permission reset, but it didn’t work. When browsing from the plex interface, the video folder still appears empty.
I have seen your recommendation about moving everything to another folder than the video one, but if I could get it to work again like it used to without moving terabytes of content, that would be preferred ;p
Volume1 is not more, only volume2\video\ has content to be indexed and played by Plex. I did reset the permissions on this video folder.
But:
I created two new shares (one for TV Shows, one for Movies), then proceeded to move all corresponding content to those new shares. I gave Plex user the R/W permissions on both those new shares, then proceeded to add them as Folder sources on the PMS, and it works.
