I have just installed PMS 1.23.4 on the mac mini i use for the Plex server and would like to add a new library. I bring up the settings screen and can see the category for managing libraries on the left. Hovering the curser over “Libraries” does nothing and if i click the “Libraries” line it brings up my 31 existing libraries on the right, but again no button to add a new library. What am i missing ?
The “settings” page i have shows headings on the left: my USERID, PLEX WEB, my SERVER, STATUS, SETTINGS, MANAGE. Under MANAGE the first line is LIBRARIES. When i click LIBRARIES, the right side of the screen is refreshed with the name of my SERVER - Libraries at the top, and below is a line indicating my 31 existing libraries, and below that each each line gives the name of one of the 31 libraries. Hovering over each individual existing library shows the options: Manage Recommendations, Edit, or “…”.
With the previous version of PMS i could hover over the line which stated “31 libraries” and at the right side of that line was the option to “Add Library”. However with this newest version this line says only “31 libraries” on the left side and nothing else. Hovering the curser over the line does nothing.
I’m also running 1.23.4.4775. On a Synology NAS, not a Mac, but that shouldn’t matter.
Below is a screenshot of Settings → Manage → Libraries on my system. I see the same whether I use app.plex.tv or the IP address of my server, https://PMS_ip_addr:32400/web.
Hovering not required to see the Add Library and Scan Library Files buttons.
Which browser are you using? I’m using Chrome & Edge on a Win10 system.
Maybe try a different browser or use a private/incognito window. If you’re using any ad/cookie blockers, etc, whitelist all plex.tv hosts. Plex Web does use cookies.
Also, did you try Home Page → More, hover over server name method?
Thanks again for the help. Your screenshot was indeed what i had with the previous PMS version. My current attempts do not show the buttons on the right of the xx libraries line. I have taken your suggestion and tried Chrome - guess what - it worked ! So the problem is Safari !!
I have solved the problem by switching from Safari to Chrome; apparently Safari was the problem as the “add library” function is not displayed with settings → manage → libraries route. It is displayed however with Chrome.
Your suggestion using the home page → more → hover over server name is great !! It does work with Safari.
