This series is not on TMDB. They just have the 1960s series with two seasons. The 1933 version has 26 seasons, but the new “Plex TV Series” agent can’t find it at all, even if I enter “tvdb-78435” into the title field. It brings up the 1960s version.
Passing on for information more than anything else but for whatever reason TMDB seems to have them listed as movies … (I only checked the first three).

I do however see https://thetvdb.com/series/popeye has a TMDB link to https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/8392-popeye-the-sailor which might be a problem. It might be worth deleting that from the tvdb record. Maybe its only been added recently as its working for @SE56.
I removed it from thetvdb. Hopefully it updates quickly?

Typically takes 24/48 hours for changes to creep their way into plex.
I’ll give it some time then. Hopefully someone doesn’t edit it back.
Indeed, they were likely shorts. But who wants to organized 246 episodes as movies?

Seems like its been 3 days since this issue was fixed, but I still cant see Popeye (1933) in plex no matter what I search for…
Yes, same here. It checked again and it’s still going to the 1960s version. The version that Plex.tv has Popeye the Sailor - Watch episodes free - Plex is also incorrect since it has two seasons and more than 200 episodes.
I set mine up back in late December on my new server using the new agent. I think it shows as matched to the 1960 version, but I have seasons showing from 1933 to 1961.
Do the 1930s episodes have titles and descriptions?
How did you add it to get it to match?
i searched and typed in tvdb-78435 and it stills shows 1960 and only finds a few episodes as its still not seeing the 1933 at all.
It matched this way on my old server as well. If someone makes a change to the TVDB data after a Plex match, does that carry into previously matched items?
Like, do SE56 and I have some manner of older match data?
