I originally posted this in the public Android TV forum, thought I would repost here and possibly some clarification/fresh eyes. This is happening in both public release and beta release, so I am not sure if its a bug, oversight, or intended design.
So in a recent update we got continuous playback support for the Android TV app. Start at episode 1, a temporary playlist is created, when episode 1 is over, episode 2 will auto start after 10 seconds. It works great.
The problem I have run into is pausing an episode after the initial episode. Lets say I am binge watching a series. I start at episode 1. I get to episode 5. I pause episode 5 a few minutes in. After some time, playback is automatically stopped and a screen saver (daydream) comes up. When I return to the shield and interrupt the screen saver and am brought back to the Plex client, I am not brought back to the detail screen for episode 5. Instead, the detail screen for episode 1 is there (the episode I started the playback session from). If I want to resume episode 5, I have to back out, return to the home screen and resume from the continue watching row.
My expectation would be that when I interrupt the screen saver and come back to Plex to resume episode 5, I am brought to the detail screen for episode 5 (the episode I paused), not episode 1 (the episode I started the binge watching session from).
To add on to this, if I am on episode 5 of continuous playback after starting at episode 1 and I decide to back out of the playback by hitting the play button, I would expect that I would be returned to the detail page of the current episode, episode 5. As it stands, I am brought back to the first episode of the continuous playback session, episode 1.
