When I select my type of content, Tv shows in this case, i cannot select slovak language in languages. I need to go to Advanced tab and select themoviedb (i prefer this agent for shows). But when i go back and try select my language - Slovak… is not there and Plex does not even remember my selected agent, themoviedb and sets itself to default tvdb… any solution on this? Why i can’t select my prefered agent in settings in first place, i DO NOT want tvdb?
And btw, when i select slovak afterwards and refresh library again… plex just keep english titles, posters and other text everywhere, why bother right?
The newly selected language and agent only affect
items which are added afterwards.
All items which were added before, remain on their initial agent and language settings.
If you want to switch over all items, you can only delete the library as such and rectreate it completely. But then all ‘watched’/‘unwatched’ info gets lost.
Problem is, tv show library cannot be added with themoviedb agent in slovak language. Whole thing dafaults to english, always. I tried reinstall, or other versions of plex… always the same.
Why it cannot refresh to updated configuration? it bugs me
You can always create a new tv show library and point it first to an empty folder.
then edit the library and switch the agent to ‘TheMovieDB’
save the change
then edit the library again and switch the language to slovak
save again
then edit again, go to the ‘Add Folders’ tab and point the library to the real folder with your media files
I tried it. I can select Slovak after switching to TMDB.
Yes, that work. But why it cannot be done easier like with tvdb? Why is Plex creating hostile enviroment for localization… imagine situation when you would need workaround if you want English metadata, would you then consider this as a bug?
Also is Plex missing option for prefered Agent for shows, that would fix this problem i believe…
what I liked a lot while using Synology’s Video Station was the option to set the language per folder linked into the library… so same as with Plex you could assign multiple root folders to a library; while the language is set on the library level in Plex, Synology allowed setting the language per folder. This way, you could have e.g. 1 root folder per language in each library. So while most of my library is in my local language, I’ve got some animes for which I’ve got my discs from UK and which I want to show entirely in English (as metadata language). Right now that’s only possible by manually overriding the language by re-matching an individual show / movie.
