Question about how “Other Videos” are displayed. I have all my home videos stored in such library. I have them all sorted out and a poster created for each. On iOS devices, the library shows all the videos and poster art in portrait mode which is fine. On desktops - Mac and Windows alike - the same library shows the videos in landscape mode which looks odd given that all the poster have been created for a portrait layout.
“Other Videos” are normally private videos for which there are no posters (i.e. portrait mode). Which is why some clients only show a landscape picture (which is normally automatically derived from a still shoot of the video).
That is not entirely correct. I created all the poster art for each and every video. It is just that some clients like iOS devices show it correctly while others show a horizontal cut of that poster. Hence my frustration. If PLEX was consistent across all clients, then I would create the proper art work.
I don’t think there is anything ‘normal’ about any type of library. It is up to the owner what he stores in them and how he wants to present it. As majouz says, some of us don’t rely on the build-in features and make the artwork ourselves.
