I am unable to get Plex to auto-generate posters from my home videos until the videos are played. It only takes a second, but with over 1400 files, it’s a real problem. Tv shows and Movies load from the online database perfectly, but if the video was made by me, it won’t take a scene from the video and make it the poster until I play that specific file.
Are you seeing this on the web client or on a tv/tablet ?
It sounds like it’s simply a load time issue. 1400 is a lot to load.
I do recommend going into the Home Videos section. Selecting all (click the first, Shift-click the last) then right-click Analyse. Lastly Refresh All Metadata for that library.
Beyond that, Log files will be needed. this canot be diagnosed further with out them
It turns out a mass re-encoding of the files, and clearing the cache fixed the issue. Thanks!
