Hello All,
I am having an issues with Plex Media Server. I have been getting "PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR " When I try to access my server with HTTPS, but I can access it fine on HTTP. I just reinstalledthe entire OS and installed only Plex Media Server, but I still have this error.
It seems like when I did a fresh install without any of my back up data, I was able to nothave this error anymore. However, when I added back in the back up data folder, the error came back.
Is there a way to clean out some of the back up data? I typically copy /var/lib/Plexmediaserver and then copy that back. Perhaps this could fix the bug.
apoligies for that…I thought I disabled it. I made sure I disabled it and redownloaded the logs.
I would prefer not to lose my backup…as I spent a lot of time setting up the libraries. I was more wondering if there are some barebones backup that I could do.

If so, you need inform Plex about it.
Settings - Server - Network - Show Advanced
For future reference, DEBUG logs are all we need unless there is a specific problem between mouse click & app -or- server-client communications.
It’s not a filter . it actually controls how much data is logged so turning VERBOSE off later only helps what will be logged in the future.
Yes it is. I use it so it’s easier to find my instance if I an outside of my LAN. However, trying to access it directly via the IP addess yields the same results. Plex Media Server Logs_2020-08-30_16-36-45.zip (2.0 MB)
Here is me doing the same attempts with just the IP address.
It is on a local LAN, but I spit my network into three subnets. So the PMS is on 192.168.1.x, and everything else connects on 192.168.1.x, 192.168.2.x, 192.168.10.x . There may be some remote traffic (due to family using it).
PMS is configured to treat all of those subnets as “local”, yes, I just did 192.168.1.1/16 to make it easy on myself.
I have my own domain cert, but I never configured PMS to use it (it’s on it’s own physical server). I only used the plex SSL certs. If you see a cert issue, I suspect that would be why I am having an issue.
Thank you. What I thought I was seeing was a mix of some things attempting to assert a cert against Plex (which had no knowledge of the cert and erred out).
