Prerolls Quit Working

Prerolls stopped working for me as soon as I upgraded to Plex Pass 2 weeks ago. I found the situation hilarious because I paid Plex to mess up my setup lol.

This thread has been enlightening, will try to downgrade PMS and see if it works.

Thank you, I can confirm that my Pre-rolls are now working without trailers enabled on PMS 1.24.0.4897 beta. I appreciate Plex taking time to resolve the issue without client action required because the people on my server are not of a technical nature and I use the Pre-roll for various family ā€œannouncementsā€. I’ve also spent more time than I care to mention creating customized ā€œtheater introsā€ in After Effects, Premiere and Pinnacle Studios.

for anyone that still encounters issues with the pre rolls.

I had mine with the relative path and they work until two weeks ago.
Changing the path to the absolute will fix the problem.

ex. from ā€œmy_directory\prerolls\preroll.mp4ā€ to ā€œC:\my_directory\prerolls\preroll.mp4ā€

Hope this helps.

Just updated plex server yesterday (2021-08-23) and prerolls are now playing again. Thank you Plex team.

Pre-rolls still aren’t working when the client has a movie it will transcode.

Hello, does anyone know if it’s possible to play pre-roll videos on just one client? I have a theater room where i would like to play an atmos pre-roll video, but i don’t need this to be played for every client.

I’m experiencing the same issue on server version 1.25.0.5282. This thread helped me discover that if I set the ā€œCinema trailers to play before moviesā€ setting to ā€œNoneā€ the prerolls work flawlessly (sans the trailers of course). If I set it to 1 or above the trailers play (albeit not very well - it always plays the same trailer and not a random trailer from the same genre like it used to) but the prerolls almost always get skipped.

I honestly wish they would implement the ability to control the trailers and the prerolls separately.

Is this fudged again? Prerolls crash my Firestick users when attempting to watch a movie.

Roku users, it works fine.
