I just reinstalled Windows so also, I have to reinstall the Plex Server, did all the configuration again with no issues, everything working good as always except that now, trying different configurations, I can’t see the “Preview” button beside the “Play” button whenever I select a movie (it happens in any device I try). I guess I’m missing something and I can’t figure it out, any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
You’ll only see that button if there’s a trailer for that movie.
That means you need to have a trailer as local extra next to your movie file (w/ ⋮ > Manage Library > Edit... → Advanced > Use local assets enabled)
… or you need to enable online extras for that library (⋮ > Manage Library > Edit... → Advanced > …):
-
Find extras→ enabling online extras -
Only show trailers→ if you want Plex to skip online extras that aren’t trailers -
Allow red band trailers→ configures if you’ll see red-band trailers or not
Thank you, just changed to that configuration, I guess I need to give Plex some time to load that info and see if it works. Before I didn’t download trailers, never have a trailer as local extra next to the movie file so I guess enable online extras for that library is the way to go. One thing I just noticed it was that I said “Preview” when I meant to say “Trailer”, but I guess you got it right. Thank you again.
You probably need to refresh the library metadata to let Plex pick up the trailers.
