Problem after password reset

Sorry for creating a new post, but there are so much posts and suggestions to solve the problem, and I tried different things out, but it doesn’t work.
My problem appears after the password reset yesterday. Now, wenn I log in, I become following message on the home: “Your home screen is empty”.
I’m on synology (DSM 6.2.4-25556 Update 6) with PLEX 124.3.5033-6000.
How can I fix the problem (please in simple words)?
Thanks for your help!
Stephan

You might want to take a look at this guide:

Subsequently you also might want to consider upgrading your PMS. Version1.24.3 was released almost 1 year ago… that’s ancient for software

Hello tom
Thanks for your answer.
I tried it, but I arrive at the last point “claim it again”… what should i do there?

Second question: if I update plex, are the libraries (that should be there) still there after that? And if I update the DSM to 7 and the plex, would they still be there too?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Claim it again refers to signing the server into your account (Settings > [Server Name] > GeneralSign In). If that’s not available/accessible you’ll have to proceed to the “hard reset” approach.

Upgrading your PMS will keep your server data intact.
Upgrading your Syno to DSM7 is a more complex job as Syno has applied some significant changes to their OS. There’s an extensive guide on how to handle upgrading to DSM7 while keeping your config/data.

Under settings and general I see that:

No “sign in” ?

Are you on the same subnet as your Syno?
If so, proceed with the “hard reset” steps.

I’ll try…

It’s ok, I found!

  1. open DSM package center
  2. find the PMS package/app
  3. click Stop

Thanks!

It doesn’t work. I still have the same problem with the hard reset steps.

I made an update of plex (still staying on dsm 6), but I still have the same problem. Here another printscreen:

The pms works and it seems connected, but no media found…

I don’t know what to do!!!

Can you please confirm what output you got for the subsequent steps of the “hard reset” procedure?
e.g. did you find the Plex Media Server share and the preferences.xml file? Were you able to remove the mentioned key/value pairs as described…?

Could you attach a zip-file of the logs folder in the Plex Media Server share?

I removed the keys and values as described, yes.
And here is the zip-file with the logs:
Logs.zip (1.3 MB)

@StephanAdmin

I apologize for the delay. It has been crazy busy here.

I also needed to take time to write a tool to help everyone.
I believe this will help you too.

It reclaims the server without needing to fuss (DSM 6 is very awkward)

I would like you to try it.

Please ask in that thread if you have any questions

It understands regular Linux, DSM 6 & 7, QNAP QTS & QuTS, and Netgear ReadyNAS at this point.
