I am encountering the same issues with posters for TV Shows. I have to different Plex setups, one docker, one non-docker, and there where both working perfectly fine until two days ago. Since then, all the new shows that I add on either one or the other install, or both, get a proper metadata match, but don’t retrieve and don’t display posters.
Since it started doing that on both my installs at the same time, without any update or change whatsoever from my side, I think the problem is indeed related to the agent or API.
I am seeing a bunch of lines in my log that say this:
Nov 11, 2019 07:24:02.918 [6772] ERROR - Error bringing media local (metadata://banners/com.plexapp.agents.thetvdb_d6e3606e72e562e3f36c0906dd69ed480430368a).
Looks like it could be a TheTVDB issue?
yes, I think the issues are with TVDB, but so far almost all is loaded now took more than 24hrs though.
I am now working on my animes, what’s the best way to fix and separate these episodes properly.
its a lot of mess, what you guys suggest is the best solution to organize better?
The correct folder structure, which you’re not using there, is:
Series name/
Season X/
Series name - SxxExx - Optional Title here.ext
The single, best, tool to make all of this a snap for you is FileBot. Imho, it’s worth the $6 / year (or even lifetime) to get things in order.
It does a few things:
- Allows you to specify how you want it structured
- Takes the file names you drag & drop into it and looks them up on the internet for match.
- Then, if you accept the match, it both moves and renames your files for you into that new perfect structure.
I took this file “The Good Doctor S03E07.mkv” (which I just captured last night)
and will now show you the drag/drop, match, lookup results and rename.
(Right click - TVDB matching) returns this.
When complete, it shows me the new proposed name.
when i click “Rename”, it does all the work.
You can do a huge amount of work in a few minutes with it.
I always suggest to start small and gain confidence because, as with any tool this powerful, You can really mess things up.
It’s best to work with copies of your files until your rules are as you want them.
My renaming rules for Television are:
{n} = Name
{s} = season “.pad(2)” pads with leading zero until 2 characters wide
{t} = episode title
example boss baby says 1 moive the next to it has the movie again with just the year.
When all the names are right, AND there is no embedded metadata to hose up the matching, It’s flawless.
If you look at Boss Baby, does it show you two file names? It must think you have two different versions
been doing all you said and ow everything looks 98% ok thanks a lot man.
what will cause me to cant accept invites???
no matter how many times its sent cant accept.
My recommendation is to use Sonarr and Radarr for downloading and renaming but you can use it just for renaming. As for Plex. There is a issue with TVDB…Add the TMDB to the TV agent section and you will be golden.
thanks will check them out
