Hey all,
Latest plexconnect : https://github.com/iBaa/PlexConnect/commit/ffe1a30a68bd5c7ff92ad0c5d92c989017c8b441
I have 2 atv at home . In one atv i have signed with my plexpass that the server is sign in. All subtitles are working.
My second atv is signed in myplex with a demo account (no plexpass) so to have different watch list. When i try to watch a movie with external str with transcode the subtitles arent showing up
What happens if you sign into them the other way around?
You may also want to check the Apple ATV subtitle settings and firmware versions for differences.
Anyone having this problem also;
Same problem. If you sign in with any other user except the user that server is signed in to plexpass the subtitles arent visible
Yes... agreed. Same as "mark watched". The subtitle.js as well as scribble.js stuff is not yet Myplex aware.
i have signed in to my account on both my apple tv and my server. still no subs viewable. any help?
Edit: Sorry i posted wrongly .. i do not have PlexPass
did the subtitles break with new update? dont seam to be able to change them in plex connect with recent updates.. neither if am signed in or not?
Subtitle should work in general. Though there are some issues... depending on your specific subtitle "architecture":
- m4v with embedded subtitles are handled by aTV/iOS
- transcoded stuff is handled by PMS
Anything in between (m4v with external subs, direct streamed content) is not solved.
Its weird it works whens its pre-chosen in the qeb interface but i am not able to chose on the atv interface… Any idea?
Again, subtitles is currently not that straight forward.
My guess is, that your media is "direct stream capable" (like mkv container including h264/aac). PlexConnect would therefore not request transcoding. But without full transcoding PMS can't burn the subtitle into the video stream...
You can try to force transcoding from PlexConnect, which might help with that - with the drawback of adding load to your server.
Its weird though… Couple days ago i could choose subs on the same movies… And yea 97% of my collection is mkv
