Problem with core component on DS220j with DSM 7.2.2-72806

Server Version#: 1.41.1.9057

Plex Media Server.log (233.0 KB)
Plex Tuner Service.log (2.0 KB)
Plex Crash Uploader.log (613 Bytes)

After installing the server version from the Synology store Plex didn’t start and stated that there was a problem with a core component. I was asked to post my problem here providing my log files.

After reading a few entries I installed the above mentioned version from the Plex sources. Unfortunately it still doesn’t work.

As the error message isn’t very specific I don’t know what to do. I hope the log files are correct and helpful.

Since you have already upgraded to DSM 7.2.2, then you should do the following:

  1. Uninstall Plex, first option, Uninstall only! (keep all files)
  2. Reboot the NAS
  3. Download the Plex package for DSM 7.2.2+ from the Plex Downloads page.
  4. Install Plex using the package you just downloaded

After that, Plex should be back up and running correctly.

These steps are needed because Synology made some changes to the installer package requirements in DSM 7.2.2, so a new package is required for DSM 7.2.2.

That’s what I did after it didn’t work with the version from the Synology store. But I didn’t restart the NAS after uninstalling. I will give it another try. Thanks

Next time you grab the logs, please grab the entire Logs directory (Logs.zip) using FileStation with Plex stopped.

The file you provided as truncated.

It really helps to see what else is happening.

Thanks for the advice.

Thank you. At least the installation worked now.

That is very good to hear and remember, if you have any other issues, don’t hesitate to let us know.

Enjoy Plex
