Problem with dvr recordings and EPG

I am running Version 1.7.2.3878 on a Windows 7 machine. Since about May 30 my DVR recordings have been unwatchable either through Plecx or VLC. The picture is distorted and stutters. The station is clear as a bell when watched directly or through HomeRun. I have reinstalled and run repair of this version. Re booted the software and computer.

As a potentially unrelated issue I have also had multiple issues with the EPG. It sometimes does not update. It will find multiple episodes of a show in a search but when record is chosen, the recording schedule says “no upcoming airings.”

At this point I am ready to try uninstalling this version and going to an earlier version.

Any suggestions or insight?

Is there any way to put this question to Plex itself?

@htubes Are you able to give us some information on what country you’re in, and what channel you’re recording? :slight_smile:

I am in the USA and several channels. 57.3 and 22.1, for an example. Doing a complete uninstall and reinstall seems to have fixed the recording quality problem but I still need to manually refresh the EPG every few days to record shows that I have set to record all episodes.

I have just realized that what may be part of my issue is despite having 2 tuners in my HomeRun Connect I can only record one show at a time.

Any chance you could grab a sample for us? What platform is your server on?

Windows 7 and by sample do you mean screenshot? Also do you know if my ability to only record using one of the two tuners is as it should be?

By sample, I mean a raw capture from the tuner. You should be able to use both tuners. Do you have anything else using the HDHR?
