Problem with LG TV app

Hello, new to Plex, I just started this week.
I managed to get the server up and organized, and that seems to be working.
I’ve gotten apps to work on Android, Web, and an Xbox360, and can play movies on those things. On my LG tv, there is a PLEX app, and it can see my server and movie details, but when I try to play, I just get a black screen. It will let me skip ahead on the movie timeline, but will never play, it will just sit at the new timestamp. Eventually I just get a timeout message and it goes back to “Home” and I can see my server and the list of movies again.
Any help or direction would be appreciated.

dont shoot me as this reply will not really help you but just sharing I gave up on the LG app 4 years ago. Recently bought 2 brand new LG tv sets and decided to give it another shot but still saw way too many files not playing correctly or not at all. Have re-installed my roku’s and they play almost everything just fine.

Or as an alternative you can buy the Xplay app

Thanks, I’ll look into that.

Right now I am traveling and I love that it’s working on my phone and tablet. Will have to get back to troubleshooting the tv when I get back.
