Problem with MKV playback on Samsung Smart TV's!

Plex team please see these threads. Plex app on some Samsung Smart TV’s will not play videos that are in MKV container any more (saying something along the lines of “Unsupported media”)

**Please note that the topic of this thread is the certificate error - but scroll down past some of the responses and you will see people complaining about this Unsupported Media problem. I have having the same profile issues - running Plex Server - Windows Version 1.24.4.5081 (Released September 24, 2021). Not sure if this would be a server type issue as all other players work fine (Windows, Web, and Android devices) - it is just the Samsung TV App that generates this error and unable to playback.

Looks like a Plex employee has replied to one of the many other threads related to this problem. Glad to see it is recognized

You can DM the logs to an employee. They aren’t shared with anyone else outside of Plex, or anyone else really unless we need another set of eyes on the team to look at the logs. You can turn on logging on the TV via Advanced → Log to Server, and then download the logs as usual after reproducing the issues. In terms of the actual playback issues mentioned in this thread, we are aware of the issues. I’ve tracked down the cause and I’m working with Samsung trying to find a resolution.
