Problem with my Plex credentials Alexa

I am able to go through the Plex setup on my echo dot no problem (connecting to the correct server and player). However, when i ask it to play anything it tells me there is a problem with my credentials and to check my Alexa app to reconnect. I have tried re-entering my credentials; removing the skill and re-adding; I have disconnected the dot from my account and reconnected; I have removed the skill and made sure the credentials were disconnected then removed the dot, started the process over and same result; I saw a comment about allowing insecure connections on my roku 4 (client) and that didn’t work either; I have tried both my webapp player and my roku 4.

I am suspecting it may have to do with me being in Belgium right now. I had to connect my laptop to a US VPN, go to play.google.com and add the Alexa app on my phone from there. Before that it wouldn’t let me install because of my location. I am planning on trying to connect my unifi USG Pro to a VPN and see if it works, but haven’t made it that far yet.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Update, now it gives me an error along the lines of this: “there is a problem and plex engineers are working worldwide to fix the issue”. So it is no longer telling me there is a problem with my credentials.
