Problem with naming formt

Hello,

I use AMC Script and filebot to rename file for a Plex server.

it works well and created E:\PLEX\TV Shows\Dexter - New Blood\Season 01\Dexter - New Blood - S01E04 - H is for Hero.mkv
It seems to be good for plex server but i don’t know why but plex don’t see my file.

If i rename the file with this format, like “Dexter- 1x04 - H is for Hero” my file appear on Plex server but with “Season 01” in name.

how can i correct this ?

Try Dexter New Blood (without the dash) in both the folder and file names.

For shows such as Dexter: New Blood with a colon in the name (which cannot be in a file name), simply leave the character out. Do not replace it with a dash. Plex uses the dash character as a separator. If it appears in an unexpected location it may throw off Plex’s ability to correctly recognize shows, movies, etc.

Plex Dance the entire series after changing the folder/file names.

Also:

  1. Use a TV Show library.
  2. No mixing movies and TV shows in the same library. Doing so is not supported and will cause problems with Plex correctly recognizing your media.
  3. Add E:\PLEX\TV Shows\ to the library. Do not add E:\PLEX or each individual show folder. Doing so is not supported and will cause problems with Plex correctly recognizing your media.

i try to rename without the dash but it’s not good too.

i have try with other file with other name but is the same.

if i delete the “s” in the name of file “Dexter New Blood - 01E04 - H is for Hero.mkv”
The file appears on plex but with the name “Season 01”
Name of the folder contains the file

Pro tip - add a matching id to the folder name so plex will match it using the id …

Dexter: New Blood (2021) {tmdb-131927}

You might need to plex dance also.

I see it’s under films but this is a show.

You are using a “Movies” library. TV Shows must be a “TV Shows” library. Plex scans each library type differently. In a movies library it attempts to match every single file it finds to a movie on TheMoviedb.com. Since your individual episodes are not on TMBD, It gives up on matching it, and the name it tries to give the file can get REALLY screwed up.
