I hadn’t updated the Plex server in a LONG time, but did last week after the security incident. Since then we’ve had trouble playing anything without it buffering then dying. In the course of fiddling with Plex client settings on Roku I found that selection ALLOW MPEG 2 seems to be fixing it (for the moment.) Anybody else have this behavior?
Same here. After the updates, my live TV dvr is garbage. Haven’t had any issues in months, and now it’s not working. Nothing changed except for Plex.

What version of the server did you update to/from? There have been no playback related changes in the last 2-3 versions. Also have you tried the transcoder preview build?
@chris_decker08 I’m currently on version 1.42.1.10060; I think I updated from 1.42.1.10054. Same issues as this post: DVR playback issues on Roku
We had been on 1.40.5.8921-836b34c27. No we haven’t tried the preview build. The change of allowing MPEG 2 on the Roku clients is working fine. I have also notice live tv playback now dies after a minute or so on iOS and Windows. Works fine on the Plex TV App for Windows, however.
