I’ve noticed the guide not updating for the last few days.
I put off posting in the hope that it would correct itself before I ran out of guide data.
This is what I’m observing:
From Friday, 10th Jan. data is missing from ChoiceTV and Prime.
Then all channels from midnight on Sunday, 12th, Jan.

I have run the updater manually in Next PVR settings at different times of the day without success.
Any help will be appreciated.
Is anyone else expeciencing this?

Nothing beyond midnight Sunday for me either.

Glad It wasn’t just me going mad.

I’m currently unable to access the computer this is hosted on, so I’m not able to fix it at the moment. I can possibly try some sort of ad-hoc solution with much reduced metadata, otherwise it will be a week before I can get it up and running again.

No worries mate.
I’ve re-started EPG Collector for some channels in the meantime and will just monitor things until you get a chance to look into the problem.

I’ve just pushed an update to it. Updates for the next week or so will be very sporadic, as I’ve just got a temporary solution setup. There will also be no updates to the sky guide in this time as it is running on a older system that is more difficult to setup.

Thank you @shea9872 . Myself and a lot of other Kiwi’s really appreciate you running this service for us. It’s greatly appreciated.

I agree with @Valharion - the guide supplied by @shea9872 is fantastic.
I assume that temporary solution is working for others and I may doing something wrong.
But I don’t have any content in Plex beyond Sunday and a manual refresh does not seem to run correctly. When I attempt to open the XML file in a browser I encounter an error:

This page contains the following errors:
error on line 37 at column 20: Encoding error
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

Does anyone else encounter this?
Given I have benefited from this community provided service for some time, I am more than happy to wait if required.

@Dave_WRC I noticed my TV Guide stopped on Sunday too. I tried to refresh it but it wouldn’t refresh. I then readded my DVR device though Plex however when I tried to add the path to the xmltv file it wouldn’t accept it throwing the error message “Unknown Process”.

I’ve since created an xmltv guide using EPG Collector (I used to use for Mediaportal) which seems to work fine until @shea9872 can implement a fix.

Yes, just tested, and am getting the same error.
Am just doing the same as Valharion, using EPG Collector in the meantime.

Updated again, the error should be fixed now (at least it renders in my browser, however I don’t have access to a Plex install at the moment, so can’t verify there).

Hi @shea9872 looks like the Sky guide hasn’t been updated in 8 days, is the issue still ongoing?

Great guide by the way thanks!

(Honestly wasn’t sure if anyone used the sky guide or not!)

It’s running on an older system, so it’s a bit trickier to get going temporarily compared to the Freeview one. I’ll see if I can get an update sorted today or tomorrow.

That’s great thanks!
How are you doing the Sky guide, is it something that I could do myself?

At the moment it’s a python script that has quite a few problems with it, and is difficult to setup on other computers. It will be soon moving to a new framework that is already been used for the Freeview guide which is much more modular (so I can easily add a new metadata source for example). However, I will probably not release the code, as it uses several semi-private sources for the guide data and metadata that if I reveal too much, might be restricted in some way.

I’m happy to go into more technical details about the structure of the project if anyone wants, as it has been very interesting for me to develop.

Hi. I’m looking for some testers for a new version of the SKY guide that I will be releasing soon. This is a complete overhaul and integration into the new NZXMLTV system that Freeview is already on, and so there will be major changes (but also a substantial improvement in metadata!).

If you are interested in testing this when it is ready, please either reply here, or send me a private message. If you are on Freeview, you are also welcome to test how the free-to-air channels are looking, if you wish.

Sorry to have to report, but I’m now not getting any guide data after midnight this coming Sunday.
To test I have changed 4 channels to use my EGCollector script and they are grabbing the correct data.
Let me knowif I can do more testing to help.
