First - thanks for the USA PS4 release, hoping now I can retire my roku. Unfortunately, not quite yet though...
I've noticed that when you start a show with non-hardcoded subtitles (like an .ass file attached) the show will display them - and in the correct size set by the settings!(unlike mr. roku). However, if you skip ahead, at all, the subtitles stop being displayed. Even turning them off, rebuffering, and then turning them back on and rebuffering doesn't fix the issue. Essentially, you have to not skip ahead...
The other issue I just noticed while testing the subtitle issue is this frame rate issue (?) - something I've never seen. It literally looked like the screen was jumping. Am I the only one having this issue? I will also point out that I have a win 7 machine that is pretty powerful and never had any issues transcoding to other devices.

Hi blackbird2150. This is super weird behavior. Would you mind shutting down your PMS server. Restarting it. Then seeking in a video with subtitles? If you're available to pass the logs to me I can pass them along to our transcoder developer.
Thanks for getting back to me... Unfortunately restarting the PMS server didn't help. I tried with the same file and the issue still occurred. I believe I attached the logs required...
So, we looked through your logs but couldn't find anything which stood out as a problem. I haven't yet tested external subtitles myself. Both our Rodger and I are fans of watching subbed anime. You got to be able to seek past the opening credits. :)
Consider updating your server to a preview release we have working: https://forums.plex.tv/topic/140942-plex-media-server-09118-preview/. It's updated super important parts of our transcoder stack so its not generally available yet. But, since it also include subtitle fixes, will you please consider giving it a try?
Spot on - those 90 second openings are fine every once in a while, but every episode? Pass. :)
Thanks though! The preview update fixed the subtitle issue and from what I can tell, the playback issue I was encountering.
I will point out, that the loading and buffering times seem highly increased and the PS4 app seems unstable in menus (crashed 3 times in 30 minutes - 15 of which were watching a show).
