Pure Public IPv6 Connection Issues

I believe the new version of Plex (iOS app) has issues with IPv6 network connectivity, as my iOS device cannot connect to my home network, which is a pure public IPv6 environment. The server running on my Synology NAS shows no response in the control panel. This is most likely a bug. After all, Plexamp has previously had IPv6 connectivity issues.

it’s my network shotcut.

Your network is changing state from offline to online and vice versa. Try rebooting your modem/router and everything connected to it. That should clear any DNS cache corruption that may be effecting your network.

ok,thanks 。 i’try it later.

Quite a few posts indicate that the New Experience iOS client doesn’t currently support IPv6, here’s the first three that pop-up in a search:

https://forums.plex.tv/t/remote-access-over-ipv6-on-new-plex-ui
https://forums.plex.tv/t/lack-of-support-for-ipv6-servers
https://forums.plex.tv/t/ipv6-support-gone

We don’t know for sure, because I don’t believe any formal responses have been posted by the Plex team, not confirming that IPv6 has been removed either temporality or permanently or confirming if this is a bug and if/when it might be fixed. Unless I’ve missed a post?

Thanks a lot, bro. This proves my hunch was right. I’ve also noticed that many Plex apps don’t support IPv6. Plexamp didn’t support it before, but it was fixed after I brought it up. Hopefully other apps like Plex Dash, Plex Photos, and the latest Plex client will support it too.

Most welcome, mind you I do hope I’m actually wrong, that IPv6 is working and we just need some magical steps to enable.

Or failing that, it makes a wonderful comeback soon, this is a growing issue for many folks who are been pushed by ISPs to CGNAT, however still having a bounty of static IPv6 addresses allocated.

Yes, The new version is not support IPV6 connection, bad.

oh my godness . As a streaming media server, network connectivity is the most fundamental requirement. It’s hard to believe they didn’t even bother to support IPv6. This is absolutely ridiculous.
