I just saw the notice about push notifications. I’m running Version 1.16.0.1226, but I’m not seeing the option to turn it on and try it out.
Am I missing the option somewhere???

Restart your Plex server (the process, not the whole PC). I did that and the option showed up.

does this work with Podcasts?
heh I enabled push notifications on IOS and got a pile of 99+ popups.
it might be better for plex to clear any notifications queued before blasting them all out en mass.

Can I ask what is the logic behind this?
Because I know when TV shows and Movies are added to Plex because I put them there, I do not know when a new episode of a Podcast is released.
One if your shared users might not know you put it there. Some folks have automated tasks to which add new media. If you have a show scheduled to record via the DVR, you can get a notification when it a new episode done recording for example
I will pass along feedback about wanting them for podcasts.

Thanks that did the trick for me!
I seriously have to ask, why are Podcasts still even in this app? There has been no development on it since release, still many many bugs, download don’t work, marked as played does not work, adds all unplayed episodes to the queue and may more.
Just remove it already.

Hmm, I got another 100+ notifications this morning… and have not added that much stuff since the last block of notifications…
Strange. I actually enabled this last night.
I only got notifications for what was added during the night. Let’s see what the day brings.
