QNAP - Playback Error - shaka 1001

Hello guys,

since a frew month I can not stream movies from my Plex Media Server anymore!
There must happen an unknown event that has to be the reason for that.
Befor that problem I could stream every movie from my Plex Media Server without any issues from every client.
It looks like a general problem.

I red some forum entrys about this mistake but haven´t found a solution.

Here is my setup:

Plex Server - (QNAP TS-451) Intel Celeron Dual Core 2,4 GHz (might be 64 bit)
Plex Client - Windows 10 - 64 Bit - (Opera Browser Version 50.0.2762.67)
Plex Client - Samsung - Smart TV

QNAP OS 4.3.3.0229
Plex Server Version 1.10.1.4602
Plex Web Version 3.27.1

I downloaded and manually installed the newest Plex Server Version (QNAP Intel 64 Bit) form Plex homepage.
“PlexMediaServer_1.10.1.4602-f54242b6b_x86_64.qpkg”

Can you help me solve this problem?

For a analyse I attached a screenshot and logfile from the Plex Server if the problem occurred.
If you want, I can deliver you a verbose logfile.

Thanks a lot in advanced

I took a look at log file “com.plexapp.agents.opensubtitles.log” and found an “error”.
In the log file it begin at line 19 but I don´t understand this log.

You have the same problem in a post from last year it seems
forums.plex.tv/discussion/287189/a-perfect-plex-media-server-now-broken-after-installing-the-latest-update
Error is
Could not parse /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/CodexPack/mnt/share/CACHEDEV4_DATA/HDD3/Movies 2/Pornos/Andrew Blake/AVSEQ01.mpg (error=-2): No such file or directory)

ChuckPA commented about how you shouldn’t use the inbuilt multimedia, but create separate folders

The goal is to use /share/movies and /share/tv directly. Be completely free and clear of both Multimedia (which is an App-controlled share) and the CodexPack app itself.

Look at the above link and scroll down to the solution it might resolve your problem

Hey hegartyhome,

thanks a lot for your post. You helped me sloving my playback problem !!!
I haven´t understand everything they discussed about in the entry you post but it helped me finding my problem.

With a closer look in the Plex Media Server “Playlist” I found wrong “media library” entrys!

For example:

This entry was wrong and I hadn´t set it up in the past:
/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/CodexPack/mnt/share/CACHEDEV4_DATA/HDD3/Movies 2/Musik Videos

I deleted it and setup a new one:
/share/CACHEDEV4_DATA/HDD3/Movies 2/Musik Videos

After that I could watch every movie from now.

I´m not shure but may be the installed QNAP “CodexPack” changed this entrys while I updated it in the past.
I learned that the “CodexPack” is not needet for Plex! And I also do not need DLNA or the QNAP media library because Plex is using his own! (good to know)

In this case I deinstalled the CodexPack and deactivated the DLNA Server and QNAP Media Library.

Hope you guys can learn from my fault. ; )
Thanks and Greetings Mr_NoGood

There is a way around the Codex Pack problem

  1. Don’t use MultiMedia (it’s highly discouraged anyway)
  2. See here. https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/287902/special-announcement-qnap-codexpack-4-5-0-issues-with-pms#latest
