Please help… I have two PMS in total (one Windows, two QNAP servers).
PMS on both QNAP servers no longer reachable after update to latest beta. PLEASE HELP.
I tried:
restart of PMS
stop PMS (from App Center), start PMS from (App Center)
Plex Web is NOT AVAILABLE
192.168.xx.yy:32400/web is not reachable.
I am able to use the rest of the QNAP service like SMB… the whole PMS service does not seem to be running.
I can log in via SSH as admin, cd to the Plex Media Server/Library/Logs directory and see that no log is updating any longer…
Do not uninstall. This will remove your library as well since it is located inside QPKG installation folder. Has happened to me in the past once so I know this as a fact.
I also installed latest 1.5 Beta on my QNAP 1080 pro and it seemed to work. Now I’m migrating my Plex server to SSD volume. Let’s see how the migration goes.
Thank you for pointing this out. I am currently trying to “over” install 1.14.1.5488 on one of my QNAPS that I found and that was the last version being installed before.
The same package works for my QNAP 1080 pro with firmware 4.3.6.0805. With the new build I was also finally able to migrate Plex to volume 2 (SSD). Now it is running faster. I will continue testing whether any problems are to be found…
Maybe something to do with QNAP make and model (AARM vs Intel etc)?
Yes, you are correct. I’m on 64 bit and with PlexMediaServer-1.15.0.647-67e950f12-x86_64.qpkg. Hopefully you are able to get your issue with x86 release fixed.
Also, be advised, we are following QNAP’s directives
For x86 package, we will suggest to add the following configuration in qpkg.conf
# Minimum QTS version requirement
QTS_MINI_VERSION="4.2.0"
# Maximum QTS version requirement
QTS_MAX_VERSION="4.2.9"
For x86-64 package, we will suggest to add the following configuration in qpkg.con
# Minimum QTS version requirement
QTS_MINI_VERSION="4.3.0"
# Maximum QTS version requirement (Optional)
QTS_MAX_VERSION="4.9.9"
It would be great if you could help to add the configuration to qpkg.conf. Since QTS 4.2.0~4.2.x was based on 64bit kernel with 32bit library, the x86-64 package won't work on QTS 4.2.0~4.2.x. On the other hand, the x86 package won't work on QTS 4.3.0 and above. Sometimes users will install the wrong package and it won't work, this configuration will prevent user from this situation.
One further thing…
The official download link on plex.tv
is still on 1.14.1… so I downloaded the package from the orange upgrade notice bar on Plex Web… which is this URL:
