I had to reinstall Plex on my Qnap. I can’t get it to open the server so I can autorise it and hence get it to show in my plex app.
I’ve tried http://192.168.0.11:32400/Web and get a connection timed out, I’m connecting from a browser on a Lan PC.
I’ve tried creating a SSH tunnel from the PC to the NAS and using localhost:8888 to connect but got the same result. I can ping the NAS ip.
Any advice on next steps?
I tried updating to the lastest PMS version and then back to 1.18.4 as it had been working on 1.18.4.
There are two server instances - one deleted and one new created 7 hours ago.
You could clear browser cache or start in private incognito window and login to the plex.tv account for the server and then to try to access it. I see it is now on 3 subnets with IP addresses 192.168.0.11, 10.0.5.1, 10.0.3.1 - so in theory any of these 3 would work on port 32400 when using the same username for login and the old machine identifier is not checked against
Thanks for the response, I deleted the old server last night, then I restarted the NAS again this morning and turned on a off a few things in the NAS config, uPNP, services, Qnap link etc and at somepoint was then able to access the Plex server to authenticate it via the direct url.
This will be the new one created 7 hours ago.
I did but don’t really know what I did to resolve it.
I had uninstalled plex entirely and reinstalled it, restarted the NAS but I had also tried turning on and off various network access stuff and maybe turned something back on that I didn’t notice.
e.g. turned off upnp, turned it back on, toggled things like web server service on and off. No real understanding of logic behind it.
I know that since I installed a SSL certificate that just clicking on the app to launch the PMS app in a new broswer tab doesn’t work but connecting via the non secure url wsn’t working and then started working again.
