Qnap - Updated PMS now can't access

So this may have been resolved already, and I see reddit posts that are similar, but am having trouble executing the resolve.

Setup:
QNAP: NAS TS-653D (Up to date firmware)
Plex Media Server: 1.31.0.6654-02189b09f (manually installed)

Streamed devices:
Bunch of Macbook Pro’s
Cell phones
My tesla

Problem:
I updated to the latest 1.31.0 and all of a sudden I get playback errors saying that files cant be found and check to see if my drives are unmounted. (They aren’t and I can stream via Kodi with no issues any files). Weirder still I can log out and into another profile and can still view some files without issues for awhile then get the same issue over time.

My Attempts to Resolve:
I tried uninstalling/reinstalling and started getting 503, and 404 errors.

I tried installing older versions, going back even as far as 1.21 and worked my way back up. Some versions (I cant remember which, but I tried over 15 installs) I can log back in, but can only stream what I see, but cannot add more folders/files from my NAS, and all settings are “unavailable” relating to my NAS within Plex settings.

I read about this possibly being a corrupt database and tried to execute GitHub - ChuckPa/PlexDBRepair: Database repair utility for Plex Media Server databases. I uninstalled Plex and upgraded back to 1.31.0, stopped Plex and tried to run PlexDBRepair, but it says Plex.sh is still in use. Even if I “STOP” it from my Macbook Pro’s SSH Terminal, it keeps saying it’s in use no matter what I do.

So I don’t know 1) how to overcome Plex.sh still being in use. 2) Can’t even log into Plex via local because I’m getting 404 error.

I should note that I turned off QuFirewall to test if that was it, but nothing in there would block my local IP…it didn’t solve anything so turned it back on.

Caution: Not the most technically capable of the bunch here. lol

Stop jumping between versions. That usually just makes things worse.

The 503 error says that Plex is undergoing database maintenance. When you see that, you need to wait for the maintenance to finish.

Suggested next steps:

  1. Reboot the QNAP.
  2. Stop Plex Media Server if it auto-starts.
  3. Run the PlexDBRepair Utility.
    Use Options 1, 4, 3, then exit.
  4. If Plex DBRepair is successful, start Plex Media Server.
  5. See if you can login to the Plex Media Server.
  6. If you cannot, pull the server log files and upload to the thread.

Resolved! Okay so here are the order of operations that took place for anyone that comes after:

  1. Stopped Plex Media Server
  2. Restart Qnap
  3. Plex Media Server no longer auto-starts because it was previously stopped before restart (Good thing)
  4. Uninstall Plex Media Server
  5. Reinstall Plex Media Server
  6. I was able to login again, but could not add libraries (likely because database was corrupt)
  7. Stopped Plex Media Server
  8. Restarted Qnap
  9. Ran PlexDBRepair Utility via SSH Terminal (Worked this time!)
  10. Used Options 1, 4, 3, 9 (Successfully completed)
  11. Turned on Plex Media Server on Qnap
  12. Logged into Plex Media Server (Success)
  13. Added Libraries (Successfully completed)
  14. Celebrated with a beer (Most important part)

Thanks @FordGuy61 !

Good idea. Headed to the fridge now.
